Asia Argento was born in Rome, Italy, into a family of actors and filmmakers, both occupations which she's been pursuing. The actress made her debut at the age of nine years old, in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni (1985). In 1988 The Church, a film by Michele Soavi The Church was directed by Michele Soavi and she played the role of Cristina Comencini's Zoo. In 1989, she played Nanni Moretti's daughter in Red Wood Pigeon. (Also directed by Moretti). Close Friends (1992), directed and written by Michele Placido was the film that launched Asia's acting profession. She was able move between roles for young girls to complex and mature roles. Cannes International Film Festival was a great success for the film. Trauma was the first film she made together with her father. Her mother, Daria Nicoledi is Argento's favourite actor. In Trauma she played an anorexic looking for the killer of her parents. The Phantom of the Opera is the third film she's co-produced with her father. In 1993, she was a co-star in the film Perdiamoci di vista in which she portrayed Arianna who was a disabled girl. Anna Lou was born in 2001, after having directed several music videos. In 2002, she starred as Jean-Marc Bar's co-star The Red Siren (Olivier Megaton) and Vin Diesel was the star of Rob Cohen's action thriller The Action. Asia is the creator of several short stories, that were released in several magazines.
